slowly fading blue, the eastern hollows catch the dying sun. the night time follows silent and black mirror pool. mirrors are the lonely place where I meet you.

received an email from the people at hussein chalayan today for the new ‘chalayan grey line’ s/s ’12. love it. want to own it. want to wear it everywhere. thank you, please.

here’s what they say slightly more eloquently than moi:

“chalayan’s grey line, a wardrobe with a modern relevance. a capsule collection of house key pieces, the first collection of the new chalayan grey line is infused with the modernist cool mantra of chalayan’s signature line.

the grey line’s gentle fabrics, clean lines and muted colour palette lend an effortless air to softly tailored jackets and trousers, dainty cotton slip dresses, cocoon shaped outerwear and commanding jersey column dresses and skirts.

the gentle play on proportions distinguishes grey line pieces: a dress on the reverse reveals a wonderful cascade of draping; a dainty slip dress gains a masculine edge when finished in a shirt-like hem and neat waist skimming shirts are graphically cut with a longer fabric drop at the back.

soft summer shades of sage, off-white, and tea rose work easily together while a pop of tangerine provides unexpected zeal against the season’s signature ‘cave’ print.”
